John: Before we sort of “made it”, as they say, money was partly the goal, but it still wasn’t, “Let’s get some money.” But we sort of got… Suddenly had money, and then it wasn’t all that good.
George: By having the money we found that money wasn’t the answer because we had lots of material things that people, sort of, spend their whole life to try and get. And we managed to get them at quite an early age. And it was good really, because we learn that that wasn’t it. We still lacked something. And that “something” is the thing that religion is trying to give to people.
Interviewer: Have they changed because of all this?
Derek: Altered, developed, perhaps, but not.. Not changed too much. They’re not in anyway contaminated by it. Not nearly as seriously contaminated as many of the people who occasionally surround us. They remain very calm and bland and simple. And they don’t know what it’s all about. They simply want to play their music and write it. They’re…They’re very normal. Thank goodness.

Paul: I couldn’t get the hair good, though.
Ringo: It’s lovely.
Paul: I’ve done another one since then.
Ringo: You are clever. Is this me?
Paul: No, it’s the married one.
